Before you’ll gain knowledge about the reasons behind preferring
to use SEO, it’s pretty good for you to know what actually SEO
is. I don’t think it’s necessary to mention that SEO stands for
Search Engine Optimization. SEO is actually a science of
customizing your website’s elements for attaining the best
search engine ranking as possible. The website’s both external
and internal elements affect the manner it is ranked in any of
the search engines out there, so it’s necessary to consider all
these elements. It can be extremely tough to achieve a good SEO,
and ideal SEO seems almost impossible at most cases. But why SEO
gains so much importance? Let’s assume, you are standing
straight in a crowd of thousands of people and how can one find
you in the crowd if he is seeking you?
Now let us assume there is a system
separating the sets of people. Maybe you are a woman wearing
totally red or a man who is wearing totally blue outfits. Now if
someone else is seeking you, he’ll then need to look only for
half of the people present in that crowd.
You can then narrow down the set of people in crowd by adding
some further additional differentiators as long as you’ve a
small enough people group where a search query is bit possible
to execute and the chances of finding out the desired person is
more.
Your site is much more as that one person at that crowd. Your
website is almost invisible at the larger picture, and it’s the
same with the search engines out there that sends the crawlers
for cataloging the Web. Even the crawlers can’t notice your site
although certain elements are stand out. And it’s the main
reason why you require SEO (search engine optimization).
Accidentally, your website will no doubt land at a search engine
and there are chances that your website ranking would be within
the first couple of thousand results. However, it’s not pretty
good enough. Remaining at the 9th or 10th
page of the search results is almost being invisible. Your
website ranking should be must higher for being noticed.
Obviously, you wish your website for being displayed somewhere
within the search results’ first 3 pages. No matter what is
beyond the 3rd page, most of the people never surf
more than first 3 result pages. It’s necessary for your website
to be a lot more than just recognizable by the search engine
crawlers. It should also satisfy a couple of criteria that not
just gets the website cataloged, but can also manage it
cataloged on the top of majority of other sites that fall under
that topic or category.
